For Jon Koonce, once leader of Portland's 1980s rock and roll kings, Johnny & the Distractions, this is his thirteenth album, The Lost Cause, featuring rockin' soul tunes with horns and plenty of low down groove combined with gospel vocals, hammond organ, and the writing and presence of Koonce making clear why he was catapulted to rock royalty status many years back.
